Hacienda - Clara Vista Townhomes

Since 1993, CHA has completed 12 new construction and renovation projects totaling 329 affordable housing units. Our designs are culturally sensitive to the predominantly Hispanic community. Housing is designed around outdoor courtyard areas that provide protected play areas for children, garden spaces, areas for socializing, and most of the developments have their own community room for hosting large groups. The community is located on major bus lines. Residents have access to health services and a credit union at the Ortiz center located at the north end of the community. Throughout all of Hacienda’s development, the project team endeavors to work with the most advanced technology and products relative to green architecture, sustainable development and healthy buildings. Specific elements include hydronic heating systems to allow for more efficient room temperature control, efficient ventilation systems, pervious paving and soft landscape to absorb rain water, onsite stormwater filtration, abundant natural lighting, nontoxic finishes, adhesives and paints, community garden space to grow vegetables, and the development of underground parking limiting the amount of surfaced paving. Additionally, exterior envelope design always exceeds state energy requirements.
