community development

Providing safe places and services for our at-risk population is important for healthy communities. CHA excels at bringing several stakeholder groups together to address client’s needs and create community solutions.

Children’s Receiving Center

The Children’s Receiving Center is a 24-hour integrated services campus dedicated to the needs of abused and neglected children. Several service agencies are integrated within this campus to provide counseling and health services for children. In addition, visitation, counseling and observation of children with their families take place here. This necessitated the design of a comfortable, safe environment, which allows this to happen.

Our House

For 20 years Our House has provided facility-based, 24-hour nursing care to people in the advanced stages of HIV / AIDS. In 2006 the existing 8,000 sf facility in SE Portland was completely rebuilt and expanded to a 14,500 sf 2-story facility where they could better provide skilled Nursing Care, Social Services and Occupaional Therapy for its residents.

Portland Bridge Meadows

Carleton Hart Architecture was commissioned to assist in the creation of a new model of foster care and community development that creates permanent homes for children.
