PDXNext Replace Access Control System (RACS)

Carleton Hart teamed with Aviation Security Consultants and K2 Security on a complete replacement of PDX’s Access Control System. In addition to the core RACS project, which touched over 340 doors throughout the terminal, concourses, and outlying buildings, the RACS project included new automated Exit Lane Breach Control systems incorporated into relocated exit ways for arriving passengers, relocated public meeter/greeter areas, and accommodation of new concessions, relocated restrooms with “double-entry” design for easier maintenance shut-down, the Security Badging Office, a new south IT Hut, relocated TSA security screening lanes and upgraded Known Crew Member (KCM) lanes, new officer stations at the AOA midfield checkpoints, and replacement of extremely high-traffic doors including structural steel jamb reinforcements.
