CHA teamed with K2 Security Consultants to replace and expand PDX’s security camera system. After a feasibility study, this project, combined with the CCTV project, is an upgrade that vastly expands the airport’s free Wifi system. CHA worked closely with both the security camera and Wifi engineers to ensure that new devices were unobtrusively integrated into the airport’s public spaces. The project also upgrades the cooling and new ventilation for several network rooms, requiring close coordination with the Port and the mechanical engineer to resolve complicated routing to exterior terminations. In order to effectively document the project scope, CHA created PDX’s first all-airport reflected ceiling plans, combining CAD and hand-drafted plans from 15 previous projects dating as far back as 1973.
