South Hill Commons reimagines a steeply sloping site as a vibrant, multi-building affordable housing community with 70 units. By combining two properties, the design creates a cohesive neighborhood anchored by four residential buildings, a group home serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and a community building that houses a multi-purpose room, kitchen, meeting space, management offices, a children’s play area, and a teen room.

Outdoor amenities include on-site parking, raised garden beds, abundant seating, and multiple play structures. Thoughtfully designed circulation with meandering, accessible pathways connects buildings, gathering spaces, and gardens, ensuring the entire site is welcoming, easy to navigate, and accessible.
